Team Bradley fears favouritism towards Pacquiao by the judges – Boxing News
Timothy Bradley, the unbeaten American fighter who will face Manny Pacquiao on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, believes he is ready to give Pacquiao h**l. However, Bradley’s team believes that the judges might show a little favouritism towards the
Filipino WBO Welterweight champion who will be defending his title.
When asked about his preparation, Bradley said, “I feel great and I’m ready to go, the weight is no problem, the weight is not an issue. I’m probably about 148-149 right now after training, I woke in the morning about 150 so the weight is not an issue. We
are just preparing ourselves for June 9th. Greatest fear is not getting the decision at the end of the fight through the judges, beating Manny Pacquiao and walking out of the ring with no victory, that’s the worst fear! It’s not Manny Pacquiao it’s
the judges decision.”
Bradley further said that most people are well aware of the fact that this match is important for Pacquiao to win. However, he says that most fans believe he is not a good match against Pacquiao, which is not true. He added that only experts know it that
he is good enough to beat Pacquiao and that this is a tough fight for the Filipino.
On the other hand, Bob Arum, Hall of Famer promoter, believes Bradley is equivalent to Pacquiao in terms of speed but experience might be a problem for him.
After Bradley’s open workout last week, Arum stated that he is a bit afraid since Bradley is in good shape and he might be a problem for Manny to handle.
Last week, Arum said that Pacquiao needs to beware of Bradley’s speed and strength. However, Freddie Roach, Manny’s coach, believes the Filipino is still the number one pound for pound pugilist and he will prove this on June 9.
For now, both the fighters are training hard in their camps to make sure they are victorious. It is a big match for Pacquiao, as he has to prove he still is the same fighter who defeated top of the line pugilists.
