Team Colombia-Coldeportes eyeing the Presidential Tour of Turkey 2012
Team Colombia-Coldeportes is enjoying its debut year as a professional continental season.
The team secured its first victory of the season at the Giro del Trentino 2012 which came through Darwin Atapuma.
It is now targeting the Presidential Tour of Turkey to secure some more wins in its bag.
The race has now been ranked as a UCI 2.HC event and will probably became part of the World Tour race by 2014.
The team finished at the 23rd position during the opening stage of the race and 11th during the second and the third stages.
The Colombian side currently occupies the 11th overall spot after the stage 3 classifications at the Presidential Tour of Turkey 2012.
Chavez Rubio is the team’s top cyclist with a 12th overall spot after the end of stage 3.
He is enjoying a terrific form and is optimistic to take his performance to the next level at the coming stages of the race.

Victor Hugo Pena is currently leading the Italy based team at the Turkish race who believes that his side has strong chances of claiming the top podium spot at the event.
“We have three guys who can win the Tour of Turkey", he cited.
“[Fabio] Duarte, Chavez and [Juan Pablo] Suarez have a good chance to go for the win,"
“But the overall classification might not be decided only on stage 3”.
“We know this race. Sometimes it’s a little crazy. Breakaways can happen at other stages as well”.
Claudio Corti is currently managing Team Colombia-Coldeportes and he is leaving no stones unturned to ensure the team’s best performance in the season.
He has a vast experience and has led a number of other teams over the past years.
The team has received wild card invitations to a number of classic races including the Tirreno-Adriatico, Milan-San-Remo and the Giro di Lombardia.
Only time will tell, if Team Colombia-Coldeportes can take its performance to the next level during the remaining stages of the Turkish event.
