Team Genesys having wonderful season as Von Hoff wins stage 9 at Tour of Gippsland – Cycling News
Steele Von Hoff won stage nine of Tour of Gippsland as he was too good for the rest especially in sprints as he made his way through the finish line.
Director of the Team Genesys, Andrew Christie-Johnson stated that it is not a surprise that Von has performed so well as the whole of the team is in good form and they are working as a unit. He went on to say, “We had good form and we’ve always had good
form- all year. Coming in to one of the bigger races of the year you look at your riders and you think they’re going well but it’s hard to compare until you compare them with other riders in the country and see just how successful you’ll be”
Steele Von Hoff finished the 44 kilometre stage 9 in 57 minutes and 37 seconds with Rico Rogers at second and Philip Grenfell at third position. Ryan Macanally and Nicholas Sanderson were at the fourth and fifth positions at the Criterium, stage 9 of the
Tour of Gippsland, 2011.
Nathan Haas and Pat Shaw has helped Genesys win all the previous three NRS races and Nathan Haas is favourite in the Tour of Gippsland as well but Andrew had a different opinion as he stated that they never planned to win the Tour with Nathan as he is determined
that Von will take the win this season as he is a quick and gifted rider. He went on to comment that the team’s spirit has helped his talent and he has groomed in a team that was already performing.
Nathan Haas of team Genesys is leading the general classification with a total time of 12:06:23, Bradley Linfield of Plan B at second and Michael Cupitt of Team Budget Forklifts is at third position. Winner of stage 9, Steele Von Hoff is at 12th
position at the general classifications with a total of ten minutes and 59 seconds behind his team-mate and race leader Nathan Haas. He is also leading the Hill Climb Championship with 14 points with Von Hoff at second position with 6 points.
