Team GreenEdge signed a three-year deal with the new sponsor, Orica

World Tour debutant side, Team GreenEdge has managed to secure a three-year sponsorship with the Australian firm Orica.
The multi-national company provides explosives and chemicals for the mining industry and the team will now be known as Team Orica-GreenEdge.
The new name for the women squad has not yet been announced by the management.
Team GreenEdge is having a terrific season and has proved its mettle right from the first UCI event, the Santos Down Under.
Simon Gerrans helped Shayne Bannan’s team with a much needed win to mark a perfect start to its season.
He secured an overall victory during the Tour Down Under earlier in January and continued his supreme form in Italy.
Gerrans occupied the top podium spot at the Milan-San Remo and has been the most successful cyclist in the Australian team’s line-up.
Simon currently holds the seventh overall spot after the 2012 UCI Elite Men category and has achieved 210 points.
Tom Boonen, Vincenzo Nibali, Samuel Sanchez, Peter Sagan, Bradley Wiggins and Joaquim Rodriguez are holding the first six spots.
Team GreenEdge has earned the sixth overall position at the team’s rankings and is looking good for the coming big races of the season.
It has proved its strength at the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya, Circuit Cycliste Sarthe, Tour Down Under and the Milan-San Remo in the first quarter of the season.
Shayne Bannan noted, "We've all worked hard on and off the bike”.
“We've had a great start, so far, to the season as far as results go and that's been noted and the discussions that we've been having, it has all come together just at the right time," he concluded.
"Being in the WorldTour being able to compete in events such as the Giro and the Tour de France which has a lot of drawing power media-wise”.
“I reckon it's been a combination of the [results and] presentation that we've been able to put together," he concluded.
Team GreenEdge will ride the Giro d’ Italia with the temporary jersey, featuring the Orica logo while the permanent kit will be available right through the Tour de France 2012.
