Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 – Players to watch out for in the World Cup (Part 1)
If anyone has any doubts why cricket pundits have marked India as one of the favourites for this year’s World Cup then that person is clearly oblivious to the batting force that India is. The Indian Batting prowess cannot be ignored or suppressed. The dynamic
batting order is more than capable of compensating for any shortcomings they might face in the bowling department. It is not to say that they do not have a well balanced bowling attack. But the batsmen do have a tendency of overshadowing their bowling counterparts.
This World Cup will see the Indian team playing at Home on wickets ideally suited to them, which will of course work to their advantage. That will also mean a lot of pressure on the host team but that is something they will have to take in their stride.
There are a lot of key players in the Indian team that will play a huge role if India goes on to win the Grandest Event of cricket. The batsmen will hold the key but the conditions in the Subcontinent will allow the bowlers to play an equally important part.
The legendary Sachin Tendulkar will be making a record equalling 6th World Cup appearance. He practically holds every One Day International and Test record there is. The only glory that has eluded his illustrious career is winning
the World Cup Trophy. This probably will be his last chance of doing that and he will make sure he uses every bit of his experience to make that possible. He also is in top form and opening for his team will give him the licence to really go after the bowling.
When the highest run getter in the tournament history walks out in such a destructive mood then impossible is nothing.
A captain is the one who has to lead the team from the front, to whom every players looks upon for inspiration. The Indian Skipper,
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820 is an embodiment of a model leader. His self-assured way of captaining the team, motivates those around him to give their best.  As a batsman, he can always be counted upon to deliver and make more than useful contributions
to help his team win. If his explosive century in the second warm-up game is anything to go by then he is in smashing form going in the showpiece event.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virat-Kohli-c95424 had an incredible last year. His impressive run of form saw him moving up to number 2nd in the International Cricket Council’s ODI rankings for batsmen. The aggressive right-hander has cemented his place in a team
with his level headed and responsible batting. That is no mean feat in a team that is oozing with quality batsmen. He has all the makings of a great player and this World Cup will give him an ideal platform to showcase his talent and at the same time help
his team to overcome their opponents.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gautam-Gambhir-c58623 has not featured in a single world cup match since he made his debut in 2003. It’s a rather shocking statistic for someone who has had such a prolific career. He was dropped from the last World Cup in the Caribbean in 2007
so when this one starts he will have plenty to play for. Gambhir has been in terrific form off recent. In 2010 he was the second highest run getter for India in the ODIs. He will be a significant part of the Indian team during their World Cup campaign.
