Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 gets pampered
According to the news, the official reception extended to the Indian cricket team by the hosts ‘Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757’ has been the biggest ever.
While confirming the news, Gerald Majola, the chief executive of the Cricket South Africa (CSA) went on stating that, “The official welcome reception for the Indian team is the biggest ever for any team that had visited South Africa.”
The players from both of the teams and the board officials from the respective countries along with high profiled guests like Mtutuzeli Nyoka, the president CSA and Vikram Doraiswami, the Indian consul General and others attended the reception party.
While giving the welcome speech, Nyoka, the president CSA regarded MS Dhoni’s men as the deserving numero uno team in the world. While praising the performance of the Indian team, the president said, “This is a team that has over the last two years swept
all before them. I think that by all accounts they deserve the number one status in Test Cricket.”
Revealing his admiration for the star batsman Sachin Tendulakr, Nyoka saluted his contribution to the game and said, “I want to say thank you to you (Tendulkar) for the many years of wonderful memories that you have given us. You are a true champion, a true
hero. You are one of the most decorated cricketers playing today. I salute you as a sportsman, as a cricketer and as a human being.”
The president of CSA also went on appreciating the cricketing links both of the countries had been enjoying for years. Giving his remarks, he said that whatever South Africa had achieved, there was great Indian contribution to it. He hoped that the strong
relationship between both of the nations as well both of the cricketing bodies of the respective nations will continue to nurture in the years to come.
Keeping the jovial tone of address, at his turn, Doraiswami, the Indian Consul-General said that they both had been the best teams in the world of cricket, and rankings had been just introduced to keep the Western supremacy sustained, in one way or the other.
He said that still he was happy that their skills in the game had been acknowledged officially.
Just like Nyoka, Indian Consul-General also expressed his admiration for the opponent team’s legend and former cricketer Allan Donald who had always given tough times to the Indian counterparts on grounds. Giving a humorous touch, he finished his speech
by thanking the Lord that Donald was no more a part of the South African team.
