India has landed in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 to play a series that will test their character and nerves to the maximum.
Ranked number one in the ICC Test match rating, India is ready to face the challenge. Team India has a nice blend of experienced players and youngsters. This is the right time for Team India to include their young talent, oozing with learning capability
from the seniors like Sachin Tendulkar, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gautam-Gambhir-c58623 and Virender Sehwag- both potential match winners.
The Wall Rahul Dravid holds a pivotal position in a team and would be keen to perform on the tour, which might be his last outing in South Africa. India will be hoping that he produces his typical slow, long innings again.
Dravid commenting on this tour and said, “It is always a challenge because we have not grown up playing on tracks like the ones they have in South Africa.” In South Africa, Dravid has played eight matches in last 11 years. In his total tally of 31 centuries,
he has scored only one in the South Africa. This is how the tough conditions are for the touring side. With extra spice and zest in the tracks, South African pacers are ready to test Team India.
Evergreen Sachin Tendulkar will be hoping to repeat what he has been doing over the last two decades. At the age of thirty seven, he still is determined to compile heap of runs and add to his century tally.
In his 21 years of cricketing career, Sachin Tendulkar has played 12 matches against The Proteas in South Africa. With his career average of 56.55, he has just managed an average of 39.76 in comparatively alien conditions.
Most of the overseas batsman would love to have the average around 40 in South African conditions however, Sachin Tendulkar would be waiting for the opportunity to improve on his stats. With excellent conversion rate of his fifties to centuries, he needs
one more ton to have 50 centuries and he would love to achieve this landmark in this series.
As the experts believe, the Test match is about taking 20 wickets. Over the years, a general observation related to the Test match is that batsmen save you the game and bowlers win matches.
For sure, Team India is not short on skill, talent, and experience when it comes to batting department. Team India also has a reputation of developing international quality spinners. Currently their spin attack is led by Harbhajan Singh along with Pragyan
Ojha.
Also known as the “Turbanator,” Harbhajan will be hoping to tease and test South African batsman on bouncy tracks. South Africa never look comfortable against the spin, however with their current batting line up and form, apparently they should not have
any issue. Harbhajan has played only one Test match in South Africa, where he took three wickets in two innings. Certainly as a champion spinner for the Team India, he is going to get more chances than what he had on his last tour to South Africa. It really
depends on the conditions, however if Team India plays two spinners in their team, Harbhajan will like to set the tone and example for the junior spin partner Ojha. Over the years, Harbhajan has improved a lot on his batting skills and with his two centuries
against the Kiwis recently, he certainly will come in more than handy lower down the order.
Indian left arm pacer, spearhead of the bowling attack, Zaheer Khan has played four Test matches in South Africa. In those matches, he grabbed 13 wickets.
In recent times, establishing himself as one of the best in the business, he will like to improve his wicket count in the land of Proteas, although he is not certain to play the first match which gets underway on 16 December at Centurion.
