Team Liquigas-Cannondale announced its final squad for the Tour de Suisse 2012
Team Liquigas-Cannondale has decided to ride the Tour de Suisse under the watchful leadership of Peter Sagan.
The Italian side has announced its final eight-man squad for the upcoming race and is hopeful to get the best out of the Swiss race.
Peter is having an outstanding season and has registered numerous victories during the first half of the season.
He occupies the fifth overall position with a total number of 229 UCI points at the UCI World Tour Individual rankings.
Joaquim Rodriguez of Team Katusha is leading the category with 404 UCI points while Tom Boonen, Vincenzo Nibali and Samuel Sanchez occupy the second, third and the fourth spots respectively.
The Slovakian bagged a stage each at the Tour of Oman, Tirreno-Adriatico and the Three Days of De Panne and claimed as many as five staged during the Tour of California 2012.
He succeeded during the Tour of Oman and Tour of California point’s classifications and finished second during the Gent-Wevelgem, third at the Amstel Gold Race, fourth at the Milan-San Remo and fifth during the Tour of Flanders 2012.
The 22-year-old briefed that he is enjoying a terrific run of form and back to back victories in California has really boosted his confidence.
"I feel good and the victories in the USA gave me great peace of mind," he briefed according to the team’s website.
"My goal is to work towards the Tour de France: the climbs will help test my stamina and improve my race rhythm”

Team Sports Director Alberto Volpi briefed that the team is looking ahead at the Tour de Suisse as a major goal of the season.
Team Liquigas-Cannondale is targeting stage victories at the contest and Alberto is certain his side is very much capable of securing stages at the coming event.
The final list of eight men to represent the Italian team at the contest include, Elia Viviani, Moreno Moser, Ted King, Daniel Oss, Timmy Duggan, Stefano Agostini and Tiziano Dall'Antonia.
