The cyclist was approached by several other sides including Team Astana and Team BMC.
Both the teams have offered a much higher, 2.5 million Euros per year which was the main reason behind Roberto’s doubts on losing Nibali for the 2013 season.

The 27-year-old is enjoying a terrific form and is a major part of Team Liquigas-Cannondale.
He holds the honour of representing the side in as many as eight Grand Tour races in the past seven years.
Nibali occupied the first overall position during the Vuelta a Espana 2010 and occupied the second spot during the Giro d’ Italia 2011.
