Team Omega Pharma released its 2013 jersey with slight changes
Team Omega Pharma-Quickstep’s jersey for the current season the unique light blue, black and white colour scheme will remain same for the coming year with a slight modification of an added black colour to the shoulders.
The New Jersey was released on the team’s website with its top stars, Sylvain Chavanel, Tony Martin and Tom Boonen presenting the new outfit.
“The design is really attractive. The choice of black dots on the upper part of the jersey make it quite aggressive but at the same time it’s also very classy,” said Chavanel.
“The logo symbolizing our victory in the TTT World Championship is located on the chest of the jersey. It is a source of pride for the entire team. I can’t wait to wear the jersey during the races!”
The Belgian team is filled with international and local stars and bigger of them all is Tom Boonen, who helped the team with his numerous fantastic performances throughout his stay with the team.
Boonen is the Belgian Road Champion and will continue on his designed national champion’s outfit.
“They are classic but modern at the same time. I think this jersey stands out even more than last year’s. Now it’s up to us to make it a winner like the one in 2012,” he stated.
The team managed to grab as many as 1162 UCI points after several first place finishes during the current season and occupied the fourth overall position at the UCI World Tour team’s rankings.
Team Sky occupied the first position with 1767 points, with Team Katusha and Team Liquigas-Cannondale securing the second and third positions with 1273 and 1197 points in the respective order.
Tom Boonen (410 UCI points), Tony Margin (171 UCI points), Niki Terpstra (160 UCI points), Sylvain Chavanel (113 UCI points) and Michal Kwiatkowski (108 points) helped the team with major contributions in terms of the UCI points helping it in securing a
decent fourth place at the team’s rankings.
Mark Cavendish will also be seen in the Belgian team’s colours for the new season after the Manxman signed a three-year deal with the side ending his alliance with the British outfit, Team Sky.
