Team Pacquiao drops lawsuit against WBC champion Floyd Mayweather – Boxing News
Filipino fight sensation Manny Pacquiao has withdrawn his lawsuit against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pacquiao won the case last week with the judge ordering Mayweather to pay Pacquiao millions for defamation.
However, it seems like the distance between Pacquiao and Mayweather has been bridged. Now, both fighters are coming closer than ever. Unexpectedly, Manny Pacquiao has actually settled the scene with Mayweather.
Floyd Mayweather Sr. and Floyd Mayweather Jr. acknowledged through The Times, “(we) wish to make it clear that they never intended to claim that Manny Pacquiao has used or is using any performance-enhancing drugs.”
“Nor are they aware of any evidence Manny Pacquiao has used performance-enhancing drugs. Manny Pacquiao is a great champion and no one should construe any of our prior remarks as claiming that Manny Pacquiao has used performance-enhancing drugs.”
Moreover, Mayweather’s lawyer revealed that they have settled down the case with Pacquiao.
As of now, Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are at peace. They both are probably working hard to get the super-fight going for next year, for which fans have been waiting for almost two years.
Pacquiao is currently scheduled to face Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico on December 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It will be Pacquiao’s fourth fight against Marquez. He has won the second and third fight against the Mexican, while the first fight ended
up in a draw.
Currently, Pacquiao is fully focused on defeating Marquez in a dominating manner, in order to prove his mettle against him. It should be noted here that Pacquiao has defeated Marquez via unanimous decision and split decision, but has never been able to completely
outbox him to a knockout. This time, the Filipino is hoping to take things a little more seriously. He wants to knockout Marquez so that he is in a better position to deal with Mayweather for their next year fight.
Mayweather is supposed to fight this year in December as well, but there is nothing sure yet. Probably, he will not fight and wait for the super-fight against Pacquiao, as he has lost enough muscle mass in jail during his three-month stay recently.
