Retaining an imposing stint throughout the competition, the Abdul Razzaq led Pakistani roster has finally managed to mark their worthy win at the Hong Kong Super Sixes tournament, after handing over a 35 runs rout to the English side, at the Kowloon venue,
on Sunday, October 30, 2011.
With over a week long of hard fought cricketing, coupled with whacks and out of the parks, the mini event’s finale eventually brought the Men in Green on top, marking their much-needed title victory - having already earned a spot at the tournament’s final
match, last year.
Unfortunately for team Pakistan, the tourists trailed on to suffering a nail biting defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746.
As for their current spell at the competition; the side exhibited no signs of weakness, and retained their dominance throughout their Group C stage matches – which also featured http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and the hosts, Hong Kong.
Kicking off their stint with the opening win against the South African squad, the 7 member Men in Green arsenal proved their worth, under both the departments of batting and bowling.

However for their final outing against the English side, the bout began after England won the toss and regrettably chose to field first, forcing the much hyped Men in Green hard hitters to kick off their session with a swift pour of runs.
Initially, England earned its place in the tournament’s final after defeating http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 during the competition’s semi final game.
Thanks to Captain Razzaq’s top scoring contribution, in association with Sohail Tanveer’s helpful partnership, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 sailed on smoothly to piling up an imposing aggregate of 155 runs, by the close of the 5th over.
As for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umar-Akmal-c94595 stunned the side with his damaging spell of bowling, which came out with a haul of 3 wickets, followed by a couple secured by pacer Hammad Azam; all of which reduced England
to fall 35 runs short of chase.
The series wrapped up with Akmal being rewarded with the Man of the Series title, while for Pakistan, their 5th win on the tournament since its origin in 1992 where the Men in Green were the first winners of the event.
