Team RadioShack-Nissan won’t let Sep Vanmarcke go that easy
Sep Vanmarcke of Team Garmin-Sharp might have to face some legal actions from Team RadioShack-Nissan for speaking with other teams after reaching an agreement with the Luxembourg based side.
The cyclist completely denies the news of committing his 2013 season with any team and his Dutch agent, Martijn Berkhout also echoed his words while talking to Cyclingnews.
"I can't say where he's going yet because that's up to his team to release it at the right time," he noted.
Berkhout has also ruled out Team Lotto-Belisol and Team Omega Pharma-Quick Step when he mentioned that Sep will not be moving to a Belgian squad.
Other reports from Nieuwsblad.be has published that Sep is in negotiations with Team Rabobank but there are no confirm details of his transfer as of now.
However, if the Belgian decides to join Team Rabobank for the season ahead, it is pretty much possible that Matti Breschel might jump to Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank.
Breschel is having a quite season and is currently seen in action at the Vuelta a Espana and a good performance in Spain can definitely help him in securing a decent contract.
“I’ve not signed anything and nothing is official,” Breschel said.
“It’s all rumours at the moment and I still don’t know what I’m going to do next year. Right now I’m at the Vuelta and I’m concentrating on that”.
“As for next year I don’t know. If Vanmarcke joins of course I could ride with him. He’s a nice guy. I could ride with anybody”.
Vanmarcke’s first place finish at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad has certainly made him more demanding for several World Tour teams.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes. I beat Tom Boonen, my big hero,” an emotional Vanmarcke said during the post-race interview with
Sporza.
He completed the 200 kilometre race in an impressive time of 4 hours, 52 minutes and 34 seconds and restricted Tom Boonen, Juan Antonio Flecha, Heinrich Haussler and Greg Van Avermaet for the second, third, fourth and the fifth positions respectively.
It will be interesting to see, if Johan Bruyneel of Team RadioShack-Nissan proceeds with a legal action against the cyclist but it will only be possible if Vanmarcke has signed.
