Team TILT debuts in 2011 Extreme Sailing Series Act 8 as Antón Paz joins Team Extreme as trimmer
Act 8 of 2011 Extreme Sailing Series will feature a new multinational Extreme 40 yacht, as Team TILT makes its debut at Almeria in Spain. On the other hand, Spain’s Antón Paz will be joining Team Extreme in the upcoming event as their trimmer, under the
fine leadership of his companion, Roland Gaebler, who is skipper helm of the team.
The new multinational Extreme 40, Team TILT, will replace Artemis Racing in the 2011 Extreme Sailing Series Act 8 at Almeria. The debutants will be led under the leadership of Swiss multihull sailor, Alex Schneiter. Team TILT comprises of skipper-helm, Alex
Schneiter, tactician, Boet Brinkgreve, trimmer, Charles Favre and bowman, Nicolas Heintz.
Meanwhile, Spanish Tornado Olympic gold medallist and former ISAF World ‘Sailor of the Year’ in 2005, Spain’s Antón Paz will be joining Team Extreme as their trimmer in the championship. Paz is excited to be in the team under the leadership of Olympic bronze
medallist, Roland Gaebler, and is looking forward for a better performance as a part of the crew.
While speaking to local media, Paz said, “I am really looking forward to returning to Almería after my first experience at the Extreme Sailing Series in 2009. The stadium racing format is a real show and a big asset to our sport and Almería always welcomes
the teams with open arms, so we hope the regatta will be a good one.”
He added, “I have sailed against Roland Gaebler many times but never with him, so it will be an honour for me to be part of his crew as he is a legend in Olympic sailing.”
