Team USA numbers????

why do all the players have weird numbers on team usa like lebron wears 6 kobe wears 27 but Melo does wear 15 so whats up with that

I think they do it for tradition. Like before NBA players weren't aloud to play in the Olympics, so by not choosing there NBA number there sorta saying yeaa were not in the NBA were playing for out country.

in international play(fiba rules), the only numbers allowed are 4 through 15.

Maybe because some of the numbers they want aren't available so they have to pick others

because they are not supposed to wear their nba numbers because its not the nba and many will have duplicates. melo just got lucky getting his nba number.
