Team Wildcat Austral’s Jason Waterhouse wins Fantasea 2011 F18 Australian Championships
James Waterhouse of Team Wildcat Austral retained his lead on the penultimate day as his consistency has brought him on top of Fantasea 2011 F18 Australian Championships standings and he claimed the title on Cleveland Bay.  Australia’s Adam Beattie on Nacra
finished second with an 11-point difference from Waterhouse at 26 points.
The weather conditions on the final day at Cleveland Bay were lighter, as the winds blew around eight to ten knots over the racing area under the shiny sun. The 21 boat F18 fleet set sail under ideal forecast and headed to the top mark on final day.
The 19-year-old Waterhouse clinched the very first race of final day cranking up a notch as he finished ahead of Warren Guinea and Rob Lattimore. However, he could not maintain his dominance in the 10th race and finished fourth, as the conditions
built up to 16 knots with increased chop. After that, Waterhouse grabbed his lead again in the 11th race and finished on top of the standings with 15 points.
Another Australian, Adam Beattie scored 26 points to finish at second spot while Dale Mitchell of Ullman Sails hit the third position with 29 points at the end.
