As the English Premier League season has come to an end with Manchester United claiming their record 19 league title and overhauling Liverpool’s tally of 18 title wins, it is now time to see which players did best in their respective
positions and announce Bettor.com’s team of the season...
Goalkeeper: Edwin Van der Sar
Manchester United’s legendary goalkeeper played his last league game of the season against Blackpool as United wrapped up their 19th league title triumph. It can be said that Edwin Van der Sar was the glue that held
the Manchester United title charge together on several occasions in the 2010-2011 Premier League season as the Red Devils’ goalkeeper.
The former Juventus shot stopper merits a place on this team not only because he has been exemplary in his performances as a goalkeeper but also because he has held his own regardless of whoever has played in front of him. Bar
one error which came against West Bromwich Albion earlier on in the season, Van der Sar has been impervious in the 2010-2011 season for Manchester United and thus the departing goalkeeper is Bettor.com’s goalkeeper for the team of the season.

Perhaps the best defender in Arsenal’s ranks and quite possibly their constant performer throughout the 2010-2011 season, the French left back has been a standout player at his right back berth. His performance against Luis Nani
at the Emirates stadium near the end of the season just typified what Sagna was all about. He didn’t rush into challenges, positioned himself perfectly and also ventured forward when he was asked to do so by Arsene Wenger.

right wing, he showcased tremendous stamina and determination and for that reason he makes an appearance on this team sheet.

United penalty area on several occasions but in end his team mates failed to compliment his determined approach. Nonetheless, in the English Premier League Manchester United’s talisman was a rock at the back. His best performance came against Manchester City
in the Manchester Derby when the Citizens came calling to Old Trafford.
While most people will remember that encounter for Wayne Rooney’s marvellous strike, it was Vidic’s authoritative presence at the back which allowed Manchester United to limit their rivals to just a single goal. For his consistency
and effort throughout the season, the Serbian defender gains a place on Bettor’s team of the season.

Cahill’s displays for Bolton in the English Premier League in the 2010-2011 Premier League season have escaped under the radar to a large extent but the reality of the situation is that the Englishman has been an integral part
of Owen Coyle’s team which surprised everyone in the past season.
Cahill’s best performance of the season came against Arsenal at the Reebok stadium when Bolton gained a crucial victory over the Gunners and in doing so extinguished their opponents title hopes. In all Bolton’s defensive organization
