Team working towards reclaiming no. 1 Test spot says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DA-Warner-c1301 – Cricket News Update
Australian opener, David Warner said that his team is relishing the prospect of clean sweeping http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in 2013.
The Aussies have firmly reaffirmed themselves as a powerful unit under the leadership of Michael Clarke, following scintillating performances on their home turf. They have beaten the Men In Blue, the no. 2 Test side, convincingly in the first three Test
matches and will look to inflict further misery when they meet in the final five-day game at Adelaide in a week’s time.
With series in the bag, the Kangaroos have been enjoying their victories but David Warner, who scored a stupendous ton at Perth, also took time to reveal the long term goals of his side, which is to reach the summit of the pinnacle format of cricket.
"As http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Clarke-c1978 said the other day after the game, celebrate your win, but at the end of the day we want to try and beat the second team in the world four-nil," Warner said. "That's a massive thing for us at the moment. Where we are placed at the moment,
our goal is to become No. 1 again by the next Ashes in 2013. If we can keep working towards that, our goals will be achieved."
However, for now the explosive left-hander has emerged as a candidate to lead the side in the future. His meteoric rise from just a T20 rookie to a Test specialist has surprised many, but Warner’s ability to score briskly at all levels has helped him to
cement a permanent place in the team.
Following the final Test match, the left-hander will be looking to perform well in the two T20s against the Indians before playing in the tri-series, which also involves http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
With captaincy of T20 in sight, Warner has played down such talks and believes that for now he is eager to play under Cameron White, the Aussies T20 skipper.
"One day it might happen but for now Cameron White is the captain. And I am still going to be playing by his rules," Warner said.
