Teams still batlle for top spots in NRL round 25
Heading into the final two weeks of play in the regular season of the National Rugby League, the top of the table still has not been set. With so many teams still battling for play-off spots, round-25 is certain to be an exciting one.
Rabbitohs vs. Eels
The Sydney Rabbitohs will battle the Eels at home at the ANZ stadium on Friday.
The Rabbitohs are coming off of another loss last week at the hands of the Panthers, and will have to turn their game around if they hope to make the play-offs.
The Parramatta Eels are also coming off of a loss, and have to win against the Rabbitohs in order to qualify for the post-season.
The Rabbitohs are currently in 10th place with 24 points, while the Eels are 12th place with 24 points.
Warriors vs. Broncos
The Warriors will host the Broncos at Auckland’s Mt. Smart Stadium on Friday.
The Broncos are coming off of a second straight loss in round 24, and are sitting on the edge of the post-season in eighth spot.
The Warriors also lost last week, and are also sitting on the edge of the play-offs. Needless to say, the round 25 match-up against the Broncos is an important one for both sides.
The Broncos are currently in eighth place with 26 points, while the Warriors are in seventh with 28 points.
Sharks vs. Titans
The Cronulla Sharks host the red-hot Jetstar Gold Coast Titans at Toyota Stadium on Saturday.
The Sharks are coming off of a loss to the Storm, and will continue to play their role as the spoiler, as they attempt to upset the Titans on the weekend.
The Titans are in strong form, and should defeat the lowly Sharks giving them a good shot at taking over the top of the table.
The Sharks are currently in 14th with 16 points, while the Titans are in second with 32 points.
Knights vs. Dragons
The Newcastle Knights will host the Illawarra Dragons at Energy Australia Stadium, in the second Saturday night contest.
The Knights have been playing solid rugby over the past couple weeks, but will be in tough against a first place Dragons sides.
The Dragons are coming off a loss at the hands of the Raiders, and could relinquish their first place position with a loss to the Knights.
The Knights are in 11th with 24 points, while the Dragons are in first with 34 points.
Raiders vs. Cowboys
The Canberra Raiders will play host to the North Queensland Cowboys at Canberra Stadium in Saturday’s final meeting.
The Raiders have played impressive rugby throughout the final third of the season, and are interested in capping it off with a play-off appearance. A victory over the struggling Cowboys would greatly improve their chances.
The Cowboys continue to play the spoiler, but have proven to be not much of an opponent, after losing last week to the Bulldogs.
The Raiders are in 9th with 26 points, while the Cowboys are in 15th with 14 points.
Wests Tigers vs. Storm
The Wests Tigers are at home against the Melbourne Storm this weekend in the Leichhardt Oval.
The Tigers continue to press at the top of the table, looking to catch the Dragons and take over first place.
The Storm meanwhile have assumed the role of spoiler, and have been successful late in the season. With 13 wins the Storm are not an easy opponent and should provide the Tigers with a difficult match.
The Tigers are in third with 32 points, while the Storm are in last with zero points.
Roosters vs. Sea Eagles
The Sydney Roosters host the Manly Sea Eagles in Sydney Football Stadium for the final game on Sunday.
Both the Roosters and the Sea Eagles will be looking for the win, in order to cement themselves in a play-off spot. Whichever team loses will have to battle it out on the final round in order to qualify for the post-season.
The Roosters are currently in sixth with 28 points, while the Sea Eagles are in fifth with 28 points.
Bulldogs vs. Panthers
The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will host the Penrith Panthers at ANZ Stadium on Monday night.
The Bulldogs have been eliminated from post-season contention and will look to spoil the Panthers' chances of taking over first place before the play-offs begin.
The Bulldogs are in 13th with 20 points, while the Panthers are in fourth with 30 points.
