Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow needs front end feel for Sachsenring, Germany – MotoGP news
Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider Cal Crutchlow is searching for a better front end traction for the upcoming MotoGP event at Sachsenring, Germany.
After pulling out from the Assen and Mugello events, he aims to improve for the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland set to take place this weekend, July 17, 2011.
Crutchlow said, “Like a lot of tracks so far in 2011, I haven't seen this one before but it looks really good on TV and I can't wait to get started on Friday. The track is obviously dominated by left-hand turns but I'm not worried that is going to be a big
problem for me.”
While stating about his physical condition he said that his fractured collarbone is now in a better condition. It has been over a month since his Silverstone crash where he broke his collarbone and he feels better now.
The British rider’s performance has been devastated by wet race weekends in the last couple of events especially the one at his home event in Silverstone. Recently as a caution to avoid any accident, he voluntarily stepped out of the races at Assen and Mugello.
Now he is looking forward to re-track his MotoGP rookie season with the help of a favourable dry race weekend.
If dry conditions welcome the MotoGP action at Sachsenring, then Crutchlow will be better and quicker to learn the circuit and its racing demands. He has been quite efficiently mastering new circuits and setting fast lap times in the past as well.
Crutchlow also expects a warm temperature in Germany which will benefit him to resolve the front end problem in his Tech3 M1. It has been one of the key factors for his premature retirement from the last two events.
Crutchlow further commented on his Tech3 M1 problem and said, “When the temperature is hot I've had some issues with front-end feeling, so hopefully some hot weather will give us the perfect opportunity to find a solution. I'm confident I can be running
back inside the top ten and getting the results I know that the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Team is capable of.”
At the 2011 MotoGP season start, he scored 30 points from five rounds while after the Silverstone incident, he has scored just two points in three events. He will definitely be looking to score more points in the upcoming event at Sachsenring. Let’s see
how he fares this weekend.
