Technical course for Setters in Costa Rica turns out to be great success – Volleyball news
The Costa Rica National Volleyball Federation in collaboration with NORCECA and International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) recently organised a technical course on Setting, which completed its run from April 11-14.
A total of 42 coaches from seven countries of Central America came to attend the FIVB Technical Course and enhanced their knowledge of the game. The city of San Jose provided the backdrop for the course and facilitated the attendees. The International Volleyball
Federation sent Alejandro Arconada of Argentina as special instructor and supervisor of the Technical Course in Costa Rica.
The course was basically a part of the NORCECA Development Plan Scholarship Programme and it served the purpose to increase the technical level of the coaches across the region.
Furthermore, it was aimed to prepare the national teams for the upcoming World Championships qualification tournaments.
Professor Nelson Ramirez of the FIVB Regional Development Centre in Dominican Republic played a vital role in organising this technical course in Costa Rica. The course on setting helped the coaches to learn about the modern trends of the game.
The vice director of the FIVB Regional Development Centre in Dominican Republic, Ms. Yoana Mota shared her views about the course in the following manner. She stated, “The seminar was a complete success and the participants had the opportunity to exchange
ideas with Mr. Arconada, the FIVB instructor.”
On the final day of the Technical Course, the President of the Costa Rica National Volleyball Federation William Corrales and other officials of the local sports authorities showed up in order to attend the closing ceremony. The Technical Course proved to
be successful and Costa Rica Volleyball Federation received a lot of positive feedback.
Furthermore, the FIVB is determined to continue its mission of helping the coaches and athletes of various national federations. In the next run, the FIVB Level I course is schedule to be held in Senegal from May 18-29.
The Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) has an objective to provide assistance to local and national volleyball federations of countries around the world to set up such activities for potential skill seekers and coaches.
