  1. Hmmmmmm... What is it about the VEG in vegetarian that some people don't seem to get?

    Just wonderin'...

  2. also no dairy products either

  3. Vegetarians are people who do not eat any animal meat, poultry or otherwise.

If you just eat fish then you are a 'pescatarian' (pesce meaning fish).

I don't believe you are a vegetarian at all if you eat chicken or fish, or both. Vegetarians won't eat anything that has to be killed basically, thats why they will drink milk (no animal suffers) but won't eat beef. It is generalised by being called 'meat' however it does include poultry and fish.

  4. They are meat, they're just not RED meat. I mean, they're animals, aren't they? Meat comes from animals.

  5. That statement is 100% false.

Vegetarians do NOT consume meat, poultry, fish, or seafood. Anyone who does and claims to be a vegetarian is either lying or severly misinformed.

  6. there are types of vegetarians that only eat fish

and types of vegetarians that only eat poultry(like chicken)

but i don't think any that eat both.

  7. Vegetarians do not eat any animal flesh.  Any flesh is meat and any meat is flesh.  If your friend thinks that fish is poultry, he/she needs to go back to school.

  8. Not true. Real vegetarians do not eat animals. Culinary categories like "meat, fish and poultry" have no relevance to vegetarians. Anyone who says "vegetarians eat fish or poultry" doesn't understand what vegetarianism really is.

  9. Although that is a perfect example of someone who speaks their mind without knowing anything about what they're talking about it still troubles me that someone can get the vegetarian concept so wrong. Either they're kidding, or they're a genuine A grade moron. I'm not exaggerating either, that is the most stupid thing I've read ever!

  10. That is not true. Vegitarians dont eat anything with a pulse. Fish and chicken have pulses yes.

  11. No, you are not.

  12. Actually you are not vegetarian if you still eat chicken and fish.

If you would only eat fish then you would count as a "Pescetarian" but if you even still eat chicken which is a land animal then you are just a person who doesn't eat certain meat, and you shouldn't call yourself a vegetarian at all then....

So I think your friend is wrong about this :)

  13. hahaah...only if they are carved out of tofu...

  14. im trying to become a vegetarian but i still eat chicken(free-range) and fish im trying to give them up but i wouldnt call myself a vegetarian fully until i give those up...........your still eating animals so its not vegetarian

  15. That is indeed false, because anything that is meat or poultry that is from an animal is not vegetarian. Veg means veggies and non meat, so that is exactly what it is. But if you did eat those things, it is a white meat vegetarian.

  16. Well, you and your friend are quite a pair. One says fish are poultry and the other believes them.

Vegetarians don't eat animal flesh. None.

I should know. I'm not a vegetarian or vegan.

  17. Well, you and your friend are quite a pair. One says fish are poultry and the other believes them.

Vegetarians don't eat animal flesh. None.

  18. meat

ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€Â¢ noun 1 - the flesh of an animal as food.

Technically fish and chicken are meat.  Vegetarians do not eat meat.  If that is confusing, think of it as vegetarians to not eat the flesh of animals (I'm sure your friend would agree that chickens and fish are animals... if not... get new friends).

  19. Not even close.

Meat is the flesh of an animal.  Vegetarians don't eat animals.  Any of them.  Period.

  20. chickens and fish are still animals. Vegetarians don't eat animals.
