Technics su g70 amp problem also?

Help!
I was getting limited sound from my stereo after disconnecting and moving across the room. Now I am not sure if its the amp or speakers. I never blasted the volume out of the speakers while trouble shooting/reconnecting, but I did hear the amplifier fan whirring very loudly when I was rehooking it up and testing the components. The speaker wires when jiggled in the back might allow for some sound, but not when I 'clipped' them into place. Did I blow out my amp?
