  1. Best bet?  Don't p**s 'em off so you won't have to fight 'em.  Otherwise, you're on your own.

  2. Aikido can help with that.

    See Kokyu Nage

  3. duck and run like h**l!!!

  4. Are we talking sparring or in a real life self defense situation?

  5. Any art that emphasizes throwing would be good, like Judo, Yudo, Jujitsu, BJJ, Aikido, Aiki-Jitsu.

Keeping your mouth shut and being polite work even better.

  6. Size matters. The greater the difference in size the more it matters.  Will to fight matters. Skill maters. There is no one perfect fighting system for everyone; so I won't bother to suggest any one in particular over another. If confronted with overwhelming size you probably can not out reach the opponent so to take the advantage away you should have some real skill at in close fighting. Frequently big guys are used to people trying to stay out of reach and are comfortable fighting there. This also gives them the advantage of using their full force. That means if you are 140 lb. guy against a 260 lb guy he is going to hit you so hard you will get knocked several feet away if he can hit you full force.

If his skill is equal to yours you will most likely lose. In that case how well you can avoid a fight is a very important life skill. Perhaps sprinting is a good thing to train in.

  7. Chokes work good against any size.  The key is getting to that position before you get whiped out.

  8. Brazilian jiujitsu has proven to be effective against larger opponents, look up Royce Gracie and watch the early UFC fights.

  9. There are alot of key factors on a fight between a larger opponent. First, you have no training in any style of martial art you'll already have a hard time fighting someone larger than you, much larger than you for that matter. I suggest getting a bat to take out his knees and bring him down to your level, but thats just my input for someone that has no fighting experience.

I am a 1st degree black belt in Hapkido and I work with larger fighters alot. Basically, if you want to learn how to fight a larger fighter you have to train with larger people to know how their body moves and vice verse for smaller (but for the most part a larger guy will usually just muscle his way into beating the smaller) Technique is what is key when fighting someone larger than you not muscle power. I am also in the US Army and have been serving for 2 years. I am level 2 in MACP (Modern Army Combatives Program) which stems off of BJJ or for those of you that are anal, it is BJJ. Depending on where the fight is going I do suggest Hapkido and BJJ as 2 good grounds of Martial arts. But that's just me cause I like the defensive side of the martial art world.

Bullies are all over the world, you just have to deal with them in your own way, via beat the c**p out of them to make them stop bothering you, embarass them completely to where they don't want to bother you, or gain their respect so they don't bother you but are now your friend.
