  1. Not true because the denial of applied technology is the central cause of our current energy crisis. Because when he was president Jimmy Carter put into effect several presidential decrees that did several things to make the oil companies more powerful and keep other cleaner energy sources from being able to compete with them. And the liberals in all parties have killed every time it has been tried by anybody to remove these decrees. The main items he was responsible for were:

Preventing the recycling of all nuclear materials making nuclear power 10 or more times more expensive than it has to be.

Putting into effect very stringent regulations on nuclear plant construction and removing the public need factor that industries use to build power plants.

Crippling the space program to the point where the development of space based solar power that could have made the US the worlds major exporter of electricity to the rest of the world was scrapped leaving only a much reduced scientific operation in its place.

So the heroes of the green movement are actually the major players responsible for our nation not being the leader in really going green because they were paid off by big oil to keep it from happening.

  2. while there is nothing that man can do to stop climate change, there are things that can be done to minimize the impact it will have on the planet.

we can grow vegetables and fruits hydroponically to substitute for any loss of farmland.

we can use desalinization technology to provide fresh water as needed

we can develop new forms of energy that are renewable to provide the needed electricity to maintain comfortable temperatures indoors as needed.

  3. well, technically it's not true because someone could always come up with geo-engineering technology that would cool the globe....but if you were debating it you could always say that the effects of global warming have gone too far and are irreversible and whatever we technology we come up with wouldn't fix everything because we've already caused too much harm.

  4. It absolutely can NOT.

Because no amount of technology will ever keep you from believing the BIGGEST HOAX IN HUMAN HISTORY.

  5. Renewable energy technology will only slow down the process of global warming, likewise non-renewable energy technology will speed up the process.  Just remember the earth falls under the 2nd law of thermodynamics and this alone makes global warming inevitable unless *intervention* is made.

    __________

    2nd Law of Thermodynamics:

The total disorder of all the participants in any physical process "never" decreases, but it can increase.

  6. If climate change is caused by man made factors, then yes, technology can avert its affects.

If climate change is caused by natural processes, then no, there is nothing we can do with our current technology.
