Tecumseh engine wont run right

Question

i have a 1960's tecumseh 10hp engine that that back fires out the carb and it does run for a little bit but it dies after about 5 min it will not throttle up it just dies it has good compression and it does not smoke i have also checked the flywheel key it is not been sheared i am lost on this thing please help.
