Ted Wade joins the Mountaineers as assistant coach – Volleyball news
The women’s volleyball team of West Virginia University (WVU), which finished the 2011 season with an overall record of 7-19, is determined to improve its record in the running season.
In 2010, they received more defeats and captured less matches. However, the team management is all up to work for the betterment of team. In this connection, they have hired a new assistant coach in the form of Ted Wade.
The official announcement about the new assistant coach was made by the Head Coach of Mountaineers, Jill Kramer, on Tuesday, January 17. The team welcomed the new assistant coach, who has a great volleyball mind and has coached at different levels in the
past. He has been attached with different club and college teams and several volleyball development programs in USA. For the last four seasons, Ted served as an assistant coach at University of Virginia.
He was involved in training and recruiting at the Virginia. Moreover, he helped the team operations such as travelling, maintaining the budget, and in organising summer camps. He fulfilled his responsibilities in a great way and earned a very good reputation.
Now that Ted has joined the WVU, the Mountaineers will benefit from his knowledge and experience.
Ted seemed glad at the opportunity to work with the Mountaineers. He shared his thoughts in the following manner, “I would like to thank Coach Kramer for the opportunity to join her staff. I am really excited about joining the WVU volleyball family and getting
the chance to work with Jill again. I know that she is building a great program, and I'm looking forward to assisting in her vision for the team.”
The Head Coach of West Virginia Volleyball, John Kramer, revealed that she has known Ted since she was in eighth grade. She said, “I’ve known him since I was in the eighth grade and have a lot of respect for his work ethic, his character and his professionalism.
I can’t think of a better fit for this program at this stage of our growth. WVU volleyball has a very bright future ahead of it.”
Ted will be involved in all facets of the volleyball program at WVU such as training, team drill, evaluation, roster selection, and implementation of training programmes. The Mountaineers are likely to produce better results this year.
