  1. Wow.

    TAKE HIM TO A VET.

You put a male and female hamster together, knowing that'll cause babies, but you can't even work out if he has signs of sickness you have to take him to a vet? What if the female does get pregnant and she has trouble in labour? Also, teddy bear hamsters should NOT live together- he may have been injured by her during fighting. Teddy bear hamsters barely come together to mate; and they really don't LIVE together.

Get an education, take your hamster to the vet, and buy another hamster cage. We don't need another irresponsible breeder.

And, as meantioned, it does sound like wet tail. I work in a pet shop and I've seen hamsters die from wet tail- despite our best efforts, I must point out- and it's a horrible death, and it's what he most likely has- and yes, it is contagious. We have to use Virkon to clean the cages of an affected animal. Just take him to a vet, get a new cage, and stop being so irresponsible for other lives! In the wild, Syrians will come together once in a while to mate then part- so when the female is in heat, the male will seek and mate with her, then they will split up. Any other time, and they will fight. That's it. They cannot live in the same space together, reguardless of gender.

  2. Baby syrian hamsters are prone to a condition called Wet Tail which is debilitating and can cause their death. Please rush him to a vet immediately! He is definitely very sick!

And please separate him from the other hamster immediately. Wet tail is a dangerous contagious condition and the female will definitely catch it from the male if he has it. Clean the cage and disinfect it thoroughly before putting the female back in the cage. Alternatively, I suggest you put her in a new temporary cage until you get the young one treated since his pee / p**p in the cage may infect the other hamster.

As Law L has mentioned, please read up on syrian hamsters. The basic rule is not to put two syrian hamsters in the same cage since they are territorial and solitary and can viciously fight and kill each other. Also it is very irresponsible of you to put a male with a female since they can mate and unless you are a professional breeder, it is very diffcult to take care of a pregnant hamster and her litter.

  3. I think it is wet tail. What you can do if your hamsters wettail is in the early stages you can go to the pet store and purchuse somthing called dri tail.  You put the drops into his water.

you have to removed the male from the female cause wet tail is extremly contagious. Your female might catch it if youdont move the male to anthor cage.
