  1. Cuddliness

  2. Initially, it offers something warm, soft and cuddly.  Later, it offers something that they can talk to, something that they can play with and care for.  For example, pretend to feed it or give it an imaginary bottle.  That also leads to increased imagination and creativity.

Unfortunately,  as time goes on, the teddy bear turns into a crutch, something the child thinks he needs (not too far from a drug addict).  A five year old who can not fall asleep without his teddy bear actually has a problem.  A 3 year old who talks to and plays with her teddy bear is perfectly normal.

  3. its a lovey. it offers them comfort.

  4. a friend other than their own parents, something that they think will understand them. To them it helps them be theirselves without anyone saying something to them. The bear will always be their even if their parents won't.

  5. thear best freind and some thing/one to talk to

  6. I really liked puzzyeet's answer above...

i dont think anything more needs to be said...

  7. comfort and security. It is something to hold.  My teddy bear is 75 years old.  :-)
