Teddy’s Promise’s connections plan for her second Grade 1 victory in the Santa Monica on 28th January at Santa Anita
The four-year-old filly, Teddy’s Promise, has progressed smoothly, specifically through the last three races that she has won. Her chances for winning the Grade 1 Santa Monica on 28th January at Santa Anita are quite strong.

However, the field of seven promises competition that would make it challenging for the four-year-old, Teddy’s Promise.
“It’s been great,” trainer Ron Ellis said. “It’s unusual to see things going so well”.
“I think she really likes that track,” Ellis said. “Her two races at Santa Anita were incredible”.
This would be a second chance for Teddy’s Promise to win a Grade 1 after she won the Grade 1 La Brea on 31st December, 2011, at Santa Anita that was raced over a distance of seven furlongs. She took charge from the fifth place
onwards, on a field of nine, and won it by 2 ¼ lengths. She waved off the final start of the previous season by bagging a Grade 1 victory.
Besides that, Teddy’s Promise will also be able to post a straight fourth victory, and the debut win for the new season along with two straight Grade 1 wins against her name, if she goes through the wire first in the Grade 1 Santa Monica on 28th January.
The prospect pace setter for the race, Home Sweet Aspen, would be a position outside to that of Teddy’s Promise, who will break from the third stall on a field of seven contestants.
Lately, Teddy’s Promise has been following a winning pattern by bursting into speed and taking charge of the field from a stalking position. The jockey, Victor Espinoza, has a similar plan in mind this time around too.
“I would have preferred to have drawn outside of Home Sweet Aspen,” Ellis said. “We’ll have to see how it goes. Hopefully, Rosario and my guy ride smart races and they both hang around”.
Being a competent lineup, five out of the seven entered are stakes winners. Rumor, who has won four out of her seven starts, can upset Teddy’s Promise as she is planning to bag her debut Grade 1. Big Tiz, She’s Cheeky comprise of the lineup as well.
