Malaysia’s upcoming female shuttler Tee Jing Yi showed a superb performance in the arena and overpowered Sonia Cheah Su Ya in Women’s Singles Group A at Maybank National Circuit GP Finals 2012 in Malaysia, on Friday, December 28.
Tee Jing, who is top seed in Women’s Singles draw of the tournament, had to dig into her arsenal and she managed to end up the contest by consuming 66 minutes in the arena.
Top seeded Tee Jing was in trouble in the first game and she lost it. However, she found her flow in the following games and remained successful in winning the match with a 17-21, 21-17 and 21-14 margin on the score board.
In the opening set, the third seeded Sonia played with impressive precision and she managed to stay ahead until the one-minute break.
After the interval, the higher ranked Tee Jing tried her best to play positive and attacking badminton but failed to dominate the pace and lost the opening game with a reasonable margin of 17-21.
In the second set, the impressive Tee Jing delivered a spectacular performance on court as she executed shots with deception from starting rallies.
Tee Jing was quite quick in getting the bird early and she did not face any complication in placing her strokes in right areas.
Until the end of first half, the incredible Tee Jing achieved a strong position on board by taking a reasonable gap.
The fight proceeded in the similar fashion after the one-minute break as Tee Jing did not lose her commanding position in the arena.
Tee Jing was quite calm and composed in the arena as she did not play negative badminton and ended up the second set with a stunning difference of 21-17.
Tee Jing did not lose her concentration at any stage in the starting half of final game as she played with superb control.
The hard to return smashes and net killings kept Tee Jing ahead of her opponent all the way until the end of first part in second game.
In the concluding half, the impressive Tee Jing continued her smooth ride and easily bagged the third game by a superb score of 21-14.
