Tee Jing Yi finds good start in Women’s Singles category at National Circuit GP Finals 2012
Malaysia’s top shuttler Tee Jing Yi started her campaign in a positive fashion as she played with tremendous speed and defeated her lower ranked challenger Ho Yen Mei in Women’s Singles first round at Maybank National Circuit GP Finals 2012 in Malaysia,
on Thursday, December 27.
The top seeded Tee Jing, who has been proving her mettle at international level for the last few months, played with precision and won the match by working hard for 37 minutes.
Tee Jing was in smashing form in the opening set and took it easily. However, she worked really hard and won the second game after a little wobble and emerged as the winner with a decent total on the score board.
On the other hand, the un-seeded Ho Yen could not catch up the speed of her higher ranked challenger in the opening set.
However, the lower ranked Ho Yen showed a few glimpses of her brilliance in the second game but failed to control the pace in ending points and lost the game with a close margin.
Tee Jing delivered extremely well from the starting points of first set as she played with remarkable speed and grabbed the control of the game.
The tempo of the rallies was very fast in starting game and Tee Jing entertained local fans with her incredible skills.
Until the end of first part of first set, the incredible Tee Jing achieved a strong position on score board by setting up a sufficient gap.
After the mid-game interval, Tee Jing stayed focused in the arena and remained successful in keeping a comfortable gap.
The positive and attacking play of Tee Jing helped her to bag the first game with a staggering margin of 21-11.
However, Ho Yen proved her mettle in the second game as she played with remarkable precision and stayed close to her higher ranked challenger until the end of opening half.
After the break, the lower ranked Malaysian shuttler continued troubling her top seeded rival all the way until she reached at 19-18.
At this stage, Tee Jing proved her superiority in the arena as she played with incredible speed and scored three consecutive points to wrap up the second game with a tight margin of 21-19.
The top seeded Jing Yi won this Women’s Singles first round contest in straight games with a reasonable 21-11 and 21-19 score on the board.
