Teen and entertainment. i need ur opinion..?

Teenagers are more attracted towards the search for entertainment compared to the search for knowledge.why?

Lack of example from parents---teachers---peer group--etc

too much TV ---not enough reading of books----

no philosophy taught beginning in grade one and going through university-------or self study if you do not go to college

gaining knowledge can be an adventure if one is taught the value of doing so.

i think this would mainly apply to americans. american teenagers arent motivated to studying and gaining knowledge in comparison to other countries where they are motivated by poverty. americans have so many things that they believe they are well off without an education. but in other countries, if dont study, they believe they cant make a living.

as a teenager, entertainment is soo much more entertaining than studying. >o< in this generation, technology is so much more advanced. so instead of playing outdoors, we play wii. and instead of reading books, we hear an audio version of it. having a social life is interacting with others online. life is getting easier for us and we want to live life easily. study hard. party harder. thats the mind set for some teenagers i know. having fun is more attractive because it can make you more cool. being smart is like being a loser who has no life so they study all day. and you WANT to look cool. so you have fun. but this only applies to some.

but having fun is FUN! :DDD
