  1. I wouls strip the baseboards and paint them and as far as the carpet goes....just buy a large throw rug to put in the center of the floor. Most likely the border of your room is probably covered with furniture so not much of it will show once you get a carpet down. And depening on how your parents feel about the closet doors ....you could al;ways paint those too. Use a spray paint through so you can get in all those hard to paint areas.Good Luck and Have fun!

  2. To paint your walls with those colors, I think it would look sharp if you measure the height of your walls & divide it by 3, and then paint the bottom 1/3 black, the middle 1/3 blue, and the top 1/3 & ceiling white.

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think a blue called "violet vignette" (# 7137) might be just what you're looking for.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  3. Hi,

I think you should get a single wall shelf and spray paint it black. This will make your wall stand out you should have 4 shelfs on top of each other. If you want the blue feeling add to your shelf blue vases with white flowers. These little decos should match your carpet
