So there is this law that says I cannot carry minors in the car until 12 months after i get my liscence. I think this is discrimination. what is your opinion? I think if the state thinks I am able to drive and give me a liscence, why shouldnt I be able to carry my friends around too. I think it is actually safer and better for the environment.

ps: this is also my essay topic for english class. any input would help

  1. It's not discrimination. The 12 months gives you time to get more used to driving and more comfortable with it. It also makes it safer for your friends because it isn't safe to get in a car with an inexperienced driver.

It's not discrimination because its a rule based on experience and not age.

  2. that is completely stupid.  really old people can drive with as many people they want to!! tell me how safe is that?  if you want to look at it a different way then teenagers do tend to show off around friends and doing so in a car could get very dangerous.

  3. I think it is because they know that you will pay more attention to your friends than your driving. And what your friends think of your driving will displace your commen sense and that causes accidents and people get killed in accidents.

  4. License not liscence.

  5. its just the d**n law

  6. They're new drivers, inexperienced drivers, distracted and unfocused drivers, more aggressive drivers, hormonal drivers, and risk-taking drivers who can often assume they're "invincible" or "immortal." Most teen drivers involved in car crashes were either drinking (illegally), speeding, or both.

This is why you need the 12 months of practice without a minor in the vehicle.
