I'm 13, and redecorating my room. I don't want anything plain or boring, and looking for paint schemes, cheap furniture, and odd/cool/weird stuff to fill it with.

To help you......I'm not really into sports, I like photography, and I am very, er, random at times. I like stuff that is considered odd, for example, I don't know, giant ears on walls, rubber chickens, and other stuff. My favorite colors are green and blue.......and yeah, that's it.........

  1. Use your photographs as wall art. Paint the walls your colors and coordinate with sheets and curtains. Take ordinary stuff you already have and repaint them with spray paint or glue on fabric.

look at hgtv.com  rate my space or just look around the site for ideas.

  2. Paint Ideas : Theres metallic paint, paint with a textured finished, chalkboard paint, white board paint, etc. [ When it dries up its a chalkboard or white board.]

Furniture: Target, Walmart, Kmart, Any of those types of department stores. You can also try Goodwill, drift shops, and etc.

Since you like photography you could search for a photo you really like and blow it up to wall size, it brings your eye to that wall and looks well with certain ideas. Called a wall mural

    Heres an example:

Pbteen is more expensive, but you can search around for ideas and then try to find them more affordable.

    Hope that helps..

  3. Think function over form.  Style will follow function.  By this I mean make the room work for you.  For example, do you want to have a place to hang out with friends?  Then work in some comfy seating.  No room for chairs?  Have some big cushions that can be thrown on the floor as needed.  Hang a white board up - so you and your friends can write notes - for fun or as real reminders.  How about a small fridge?  Like listening to music loudly?  Then get some quilts and hang on the walls to contain and deaden the sound.  Into reading?  Put book shelves on the walls and keep books around you.  Let the decorative stuff be things that you gather as you go & live.  Road signs, car doors, snow boards, drift wood, snake skins - things that come from what you do will be the best decorations.

And string lites are always fun - around headboards, shelves, windows, ceiling - what ever.

    Have fun!

  4. Well, I'm your age too and I think a star wars/star trek look is cool :P Actually i might just have to do that myself...

  5. www.RockYourWall.com has a lot of cool things like Pottery Barn Teen for a lot less money! You can create a custom tile bulletin board using green and blue tiles. Many other colors to choose from as well as cork.
