I'm 13 years old (female) and looking for a modeling school. (one that teaches you in classes etc. then gioves you agencies kind of) I've heard of barbizon. Idk what is THE best choice, and if it's a rip off. (im not worried about cost just whether its worth it) I'm looking for one in the massachusetts area, (boston maybe?) Personal expirience and advice would be GREAT! Thanks!

  1. First off, a modeling school is one of the last places you want to go.  Barbizon, JRP, Cassablanca's and all the hotel and mall "open calls" are all interested in one thing - your money.  You're going to pay huge fees for "training" and you'll see no or very very little at best return on your investment.

If you want to get started in modeling find a local photographer and build your portfolio and then look for a good qualified agency (not a school) to help you find work.

www.onemodelplace.com and www.modelmayhem.com are two popular online communities for the industry.  Beginning models can create an online portfolio, find photographers, network and find jobs through the website.  As with anything on the internet DO YOUR RESEARCH.  Check references before you book a shoot with anyone and always take someone with you to your shoot.
