Teen parents: did you live at home?

I'm just wondering how so many teens can afford to bring up a baby? do most of you start off by living at home with your parents at first? I'm not a teen and not pregnant, but we have thought about trying but we couldn't possibly afford to move to a bigger place and raise a baby (we are in a studio apartment and both going to university) so how can teens afford to raise a baby and go to school????

  1. im a teen parent and i go to school im actually going tio graduate one year earlier . i go to work. and i still spend time with my baby.. my husband and i both have our own beautiful house and our truck.. my husband is 21 and he works as a border patrol and ima study to  be an RN..Looks like our lives our going great. not like anybody else makes it seems like..

  2. i am a 18 year old and a mother to a 4 month old son. yes i still live at home with my parents. having a baby is hard due to the fact i am a full time student and work part time. my son and i are  moving  in november  but, i feel like if you think you cant afford a baby i would not go out my way to make one but if it happens you take a stand and be the best parent that you can.

my son has everything he could ever want.  At my babyshower people gave lots of pampers so till this day i still havent had to buy any. when i got my refund check from school i bought all his clothes, crib, and other baby necessities.  i guess im just blessed with people who will help me

  3. well im a mother of a 2 year old son.. ill be 16 in 3 months.. i live with my mother, i have a part time job and do charter school.. I'll be moving out in a few months and im planning on getting HUD and foodstamps etc until i save enough money with my bf to get a nicer place of our own.. as long as teen mom/dads have supportive pple in their lives and are willing to work and sacrifice uneeded things they can survive lol

  4. im a teen parent im although im debt free it takes me all month to pay my power bills and i could never afford renting! my awesome parents brought me a house so i could have rent i could afford! nice ay! as a teen mum i think most things we can afford but forget ever having a savings account after buying all babys needs and food. i think alot of teen mums rely on gifts from family of toys and clothes to be able to afford things serously.

  5. my mom had be when she was 18 and my dad was like 22 or something and they lived with my mom's parents until i was around a year old then they moved in with my dads parents and then they moved back in with my mom's mom and then we got our own house.

luckily, my mom was graduating when she found out she was pregnant with me so she really didn't worry about missing school or anything. my dad had [and still has] an okayish job.

    it just takes time

  6. my parents had me when they were teenagers and yeahh they still lived at home until my dad was 20 and my mom was 18. its really hard 2 raise a baby and go 2 skool babysitting is really expensive. i felt bad about my parents having me so young because they missed out on so much! its never a good idea 2 get pregnant young! its actually kinda sad...i mean my mom had 2 breast pump during prom! think about everything u would miss b4 getting pregnant...alot changes.

  7. I'm currently living at home but between me and my boyfriend (who is  17 as well) could move into a 2 bedroom if we wanted to. We are both in high school. He is working full time at a call center and we could live by ourselves with only him working. Although I would probably still work a couple shifts for some extra money. My parents asked me to stay home until I at least finished high school.
