Question:

Teen trip to Paris?

I'm looking for a program for teens that goes to Paris for two weeks (or any part of France, really.) It should be two weeks over the summer (preferably July), approximately $3000. Also, my parents would prefer if it's female only.

It would need to depart from the US, (I live near Boston, so that would be the best place of departure.) I'll be fifteen this April.

Thanks!

  1. I went to France though an exchange program AFS.  Although I went for the entire year they offer programs to go during the summer.  It wouldn't be all girls but you wouldn't be with any males other than traveling there and back. You would be living in a host family so you parents wouldn't have to really worry.  All the families are hand selected and the majority of the time there isn't a problem.  The one down side to this is that you can't be guaranteed to live in Paris but you can arrange to visit Paris!  Have Fun!!

  2. As you are 15, I think it would be better for you to book a program all included, with some french lessons on the morning, some animations and living in a family.

I think it's better to live in a french family, you will learn faster and your parents will be happy for the security.

There are many associations which offer such programs.

I have found some links. I don't know by myself, but they seem to be serious.

If you are in Paris or in Nice (on the french riviera, it's good)

  3. .....a lot of highschools just set up trips like that. ive never heard of a program that just takes teens to another country. my hs is doing italy & im going.

  4. hannah,  have you tried getting info from your counseling office?  or since you live near boston try the universities to see what info they have.

also, look up the various student exchange programs (you don't need to take a student to your home)  on the web & send for their info to compare prices & programs-- my daughter did an entire summer in chile through a program for less than $3000 through afs when she was 16.
