I'm a 15 year old girl, and I'm 150 pounds. My height is 5'5 and my chest size is 36DD. I'm in Martial Arts and my b***s are starting to get in the way of everything. I'm in Aikido, Judo, & Hapkido. In Judo, I have to do mat work with boys. . . Any advice on how to shrink my chest size fast ?

  1. thats real s**y

  2. Hey I agree with cailano!

  3. I really don't know what to tell you except maybe get a chest protector. Quite a few of the females in our class wear them, which we encourage, it helps prevent accidents. I would also try talking to your instructor and telling him how you feel.

He may have some better advice than anyone on here. Hope this helps you.

  4. Erase the idea of doing anything to your body.

Judomofo can probably help you with advice on how to be effective using less of the contact you are worried about.

Forget about "shrinking". Never try to augment your physical body for anything or anybody.

    Work around it.

  5. Well, you're only a 36, so the problem isn't so much weight it's your general build and of course your cup size.

I had a girlfriend once about your same size.  She wore 2 bras to class, I think both different types of sports bras.  That solved the bouncing issue, which was painful to her.

As far as pressing into people during grappling... sorry, there's nothing much to do about that.  Just don't worry about it.  If they guys aren't mature enough to handle it then teach them maturity on the mat.  Sounds like you have the background to lay some etiquette upside their head whenever you'd like.

As far as shrinking... I'm going to guess you have a fairly solid bone structure, so you probably would struggle to lose more than about 25 pounds.  You can do that with diet and continued exercise.  Try www.spartafit.com for some good nutritional information.  The Slimfast diet has worked pretty good for some people I know, too.  My current girlfriend is dropping about 2 pounds a week on it.

But even if you lose all 25 pounds, you'll probably still be maybe a 34 D.  On the other hand you'll look d**n good so I say go for it anyway.

Best of luck and whatever you do don't let this disrupt your training.

  6. I sometimes have female students that encounter difficulties with certain techniques and doing them for this reason.  You have to remember that many traditional martial arts of Japan and Okinawa as well as some techniques of others were not developed with women in mind.  Nor were they desgined for the larger, taller frame of westerners.  In those cases where my female students have such a problem I encourage them to consider wearing some other brand or type of bra that will minimize the problem.  They do exist but whether or not it will be effective enough and resolve your problem is debatable.  Not only that but such bras are probably not cheap and I have heard of women spending a lot of money for one.  I think if you are going to stay in martial arts though and be comfortable this is something that you might have to consider exploring and purchasing.  I have also heard of women wearing two sports bras at the same time as someone has suggested and you might want to experiment with that first and see if that works.  You might want to consider a reduction at some point as the back problems, trouble finding and getting clothes to fit nicely and some of the social problems that this creates for some women can really be a pain and so some women do get a reduction.  Good luck in finding a solution to your problem and hopefully you will stay in martial arts.

  7. To physically shrink down is pretty much impossible. You can try to lose a few pounds, but that will only help so much. A couple of the gals in my Hapkido class that have large chest wear compression shirts. They fit very tight and keep everything tucked in and once under the gi top you shouldn't have much problem. These shirts are also known as Rash guards. You can get them on any martial arts supply online. there many brands like Tapout, Piranah, Sprawl, to name a few. I've never heard any of the girls complain about it so it must seem to help.
