I am 17 and would like to know if there is a way to get a group of like-minded friends and go to some supposedly haunted places (such as friends, family members, public places) and do some ghost hunting. I already know the basics, and i've had some paranormal experiences before, and i have a camera, video recorder, and a tape recorder. Whats the best step to take to get recognized?

  1. Try researching your area for any old histoical places old school houses ect...and then ask around to see if there are any ghost stories to with them.

  2. ooo. creepy. y don't u put up posters or make a website for ur community and post it on there. Get more friends to join u and spread the   word. (i, personally would NOT do it..k i admit it. im a scaredy cat. but it doesn't hurt to try)

Good luck with ur project. :D

  3. find something really cool!!!

    and i will help you!

    i love ghosts!

there is a haunted place where i live!!

  4. Don't do it for the recognition.  Just get out there and do it for the fun of it and the learning experience.  The paranormal investigation fad will pass from the public eye soon.

  5. What exactly do you mean when you talk about being recognized?

Successful ghost hunting groups are good at marketing. They know how to get their name out there usually by the Internet. They also are willing to spend the money it takes to get in good search engines so their websites come up on searches.

I am not sure if they have an age limit but check out American Ghost society. If they do have an age limit you are 17 so you will not have long to wait.till you are 18.*

  6. Fake some pictures, that'll get you recognized.  I hear it's the really hot thing to do right now.

  7. Try Googling your state and Ghost Hunters (Ex. Utah Ghost Hunters) and contact them if there is a site, I'm sure they would let you tag along and you could make some friends.

  8. you mean like another ghost hunting show? hmm... just be nice to the ghosties! you need to make a sample tape, of course you don't need real ghosts for your demo, you can just make up a story and when you finish sell it in art fairs and stuff and if the people like what they see and someone wants to sponser you then you're on your way!

  9. Get a part in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"!  Then see a psychiatrist.

  10. creating your own group can be pretty hard depending on the areas you wish to search/hunt.

As you firstly need permission to stay at the location overnight and if renting the location for a night this can be very costly.

So first of try going with some already established groups like Phil wymans dead haunted nights...which i recommend but they are still expensive.

As for like minded people, try not to make them too like minded, a group should have a few believers at least one sceptic and often a medium but that's not a must, If for example all the members are believers you may all be jumping to the first conclusions and the group would be pointless as these groups are meant to judge if a place is haunted or not, and if you hear a bang and call it a ghost without investigation, you are defeating the object of being a paranormal investigator.

Good luck to you and i hope you do manage to get a group together, ghost hunting is great:-)
