Teenage boy bedroom decorating ideas and tips?

My son is coming home in a month and I want to give him a "new bedroom",The problem is I am on a TIGHT BUDGET,He loves music and has his drums and guitars already in there.He also likes calming classy colors.Any ideas how I can incorporate the 2 and on a budget?

What about browsing garage sales or eBay to find some classic rock albums or cd cases to hang on the walls?  Having a calm neutral color on the walls might be a great backdrop for album covers!

I like the idea of brown and blue together, and maybe if he likes music he would want to put up posters or something.

I also like a brownish red color, thats the color of my room and I know my teenage brother likes it a lot.

If you plan to get him storage, it looks much better if it all matches.

They have storage at target and kmart, stores like that that are plastic and come in a lot of different sizes and variations (like shelves or dressers) they usually come in white, but sometimes in other colors.

Also, get new bedding.

New paint and new bedding make a room look totally different just by themselves.

Well, my older bro has his room painted a dark brownish tan color, with blue bedding. its very calming. he also likes music so he has a couple framed pics of some of his favorite bands on the wall. he also doesnt have alot of furniture, which is helpful for him because its more space to do stuff in. all teenage boys are messy, so my parents have a few storage places for him in there under his bed and in his closet. i hope that helps!

Go beige with black trim. Then hang either pictures of guitars or acutal guitars all around the walls. You could also hang some sheet music in thin black metal frames. If you take pictures of his own guitars on a cool background to make it look professional then take it to Kinkos to blow it up.

Give him five bucks and send him off to the paint shop.  If he buys paint it will be the colour he likes, if he buys beer you can leave the bedroom as it is.
