  8. It has been already said that alcohol kills brain cells, regardless of age.

    New studies show that alcohol does not kill brain cells, but damage dendrites--the branched ends of nerve cells that bring messages into the cell.

    There is a huge difference between these two because in the former theory you are saying that alcohol kills brains cells, which are non-reproductive-- meaning once they are gone, they are gone forever. This is quite serious!

    However, the recent studies show that you damage the end of the cells, and thus damage your brain, but do not completely destroy the cells, which would mean, I believe, if you take good care of your brain --for instance by stopping drinking for a while-- your non-died brain cells will function better.
