Teenage new driver tips?

am going to start learing to drive tomorow with my dad. and i was wonderin if ayone had some good tips cause i am going to need them!

  1. Pay attention to other drivers at all times. Look over your shoulder both ways before changing lanes and watch out for motorcycles. Treat every driver coming out of a side street or at traffic lights like they are going to pull out in front of you. (Watch them) Don't follow too close, slow down 5 to 8 miles per hour coming into intersections, leave the radio off, and listen to what your dad is telling you. Oh, and a couple  more things. This will make him very happy, put on your seat belt, adjust your mirrors and your seat before he asked you to. Good luck.


  2. Very simple.  Just assume that every other driver on the road is an inattentive idiot.  Give them plenty of room and focus on what you're doing.  

    Practice in poor weather conditions (by this I'm not suggesting to head for the interstate at the first sign of snow).  Find a parking lot without curbs or obstructions and learn how your car behaves on a slippery surface before having to deal with such conditions in traffic.
