Question:

Tees? What is the best?

I see brush tees, tees that prevent slices, tees that reduce friction, etc, etc, etc. Do any of them really make a difference? What would be the best tee for a high handicapper who needs to hit the ball straight?

Thanks

  1. almost all teees are created equal, thost that promise to cure slices/more distance etc are only minimal changes.  you would better off looking at a decent ball and also getting a lesson or two.

  2. if there was any advantages to using hi-tech tees, the pros would have tried it. just buy the cheapest one !!!

  3. All tees are the same.  Spend your money on lessons.  Don't waste it on gadgets.

  4. Tees do not really make a difference.  I would suggest always using a tee from the tee unless you are more comfortable hitting your irons from the ground.

  5. Those slice prevention tees (the one with the cup on the back) are illegal. However, the ones that are supposed to add distance by reducing contact with the ball (the ball sits on spikes or a brush, instead of in a wooden cup) are ok.

  6. Tees do not matter at ALL.

any tee is pretty much fine

as long as it isnt rotten, weak

    warped, defective, etc.

  7. all are the best!!!

  8. The tees don't make any difference but if you spend $2 on a brush tee you won't have to get another tee for about 3 months.

  9. To repeat what the other people say, tees are irrelevant.  Besides they're not legal.  If a tee is marketed as helping in your ball flight they're not legal, besides being a scam that is.

  10. Brush tees last a long time but are relatively expensive and feel weird when you hit off them. I've never used anti-slice tees, but there's no point in getting used to tees that aren't legal for competition in case you decide to join a legal or play in a scramble or something at some point.

I actually like the Zero Friction tees. They have prongs holding the ball up and a slight difference between them and standard tees is noticeable when you hit off of them. Plus, they'll last almost forever (basically until you lose them) and aren't that expensive.
