  1. It doesn't really hurt... They gave me a lot of laughing gas. I was really out of it. The novocaine shot stung a little, but I didn't really notice because I was so... distracted. When the dentist was actually pulling out the tooth I remember a lot of pressure. I don't know how long it took exactly, cause I was so loopy. Most of the time was spent waiting for the laughing gas/novacaine to kick in, I guess. The actual pulling only lasted less than a minute. Afterwards the open space was pretty sore for a few hours before I took anything. Then I was just fine. :) I was in elementary school, so I'm sure you'll make it. Good luck.

Edit: Let the dentist know you are nervous and tell him/her to make sure to use enough laughing gas to completely relax you. I was really scared and the dentist knew it, but he used enough laughing gas to make it so I hardly noticed the shot/pulling.

  2. i got a baby molar out when i was in kindergarden! i was numbed and i hurtssss bad but it depends my mom doesn't get numbed because it doesn't work and the needle that they numb you with hurts too!

  3. takes about 1 minute. and once you are numb it will not hurt. even after you go home you will only have minimal if any pain

  4. I had this happen to me on a couple of occasions. The teeth were loose but wouldn't come out. They had both had very large cavities and one had a steel crown on top of it while the other had a large filling. I had them both pulled out at the dentist's office. They were done quickly and didn't hurt much. Afterwards, I looked at what was left of the roots and it was easy to see why they wouldn't come out. They had little hooks (from the earlier dental work) that held them in place.
