Question:

Teeth falling out dreams?

I have recurring dreams where my teeth fall out. Sometimes they are knocked out, sometimes they are pulled out by a dentist, or they just fall out on their own. A lot of times I'll dream that I'm brushing my teeth and they start cracking or crumbling. Usually I'm really scared in these dreams. What does this mean?

  1. My mom always used to tell me that having a dream about your teeth a lot that means your going to be loosing money in the future.

  2. ooh!  I used to have that same dream over and over again a long time ago...

I don't know what it means, but if it's any consolation my teeth haven't fallen out...

  3. It's a common symbol, and research has suggested it has something to do with being afraid of being embarrassed, or concern about your physical appearance.

  4. ahaha!

  5. I used to dream of losing my teeth too. Eventually I got a book and looked it up. It said that dreams like this usually denote a fear of losing someone close to you or something important to you. Once I found this out the dreams stopped.

  6. I have read that when your teeth fall out in your dreams it means that you are feeling insecure about something.  But I could be wrong.

  7. I used to have this dream and when I woke up I would have the feeling in my mouth like I did when my teeth were falling out in my dream (eeeek) anyway, about a month ago I got an issue of teen vouge and it said that dreams like this are caused by fear or stress in your life due to perhaps an upcoming event, hope those dreams stop (=

  8. Really common dream - have had it myself and it was horrible!

The loss of teeth can represent a feeling of powerlessness. You may be not be feeling particurlay self-confident at the moment and are feeling frustrated. Losing your teeth in a dream can also indicate that you may be worried about being made a fool of or that you are concerned about the way you appear to others.

Basically these dreams normally are pointing out a need for you to be more assertive and to have more self-belief.

  9. I have had similar dreams and I read that it is representative of being fearful.  In my dream, I often pulled out my own teeth, which the book said that I was afraid of being infertile.

  10. same dream. Then again im REALLY insucure on my body, how i look, and everyhting. so, im guessing something like that!

  11. if its without any blood shed it means death. not death of u but someone else. from ur family or relatives. my aunt had this dream and her father died. its really a bad sign. im sorry to say that. it also depends on which tooth is falling out. if its ur foreteeth, the person who is gonna die is very close to u but if its canine teeth, the person is close to u but not that much, and so on... but if blood comes out of ur mouth or u see blood in ur dreams, there is no danger

  12. Exact same dream! I always remember being absolutely distraught that my teeth are coming out in the dream and it's so real whilst I never remember my other ones.

I read somewhere that it meant you were coming into money but as I had all these dreams and woah! I'm still skint, then no. I don't believe that for a second.

  13. I have these sorts of dreams all the time, especially during a big change in my life, and sometimes little ones with a big impact.

I've been told by several people, and places online, that it's a symbol that represents being afraid of change.

Are you trying to make a major decision in your life?

Is something changing thats out of your control?

  14. You yourself say that you are scared when you have this dream. Looking at the answers you are getting, FEAR is the most recurring sentiment. Fear of inadequate appearance, fear of losing money, fear of big changes, fear of losing someone close, but also fear of becoming infertile.

Fear of appearance makes good sense, for if you lose your teeth you won't look your best.

Fear of change is based on the fact that at one time you lost your milk teeth which was a sign of change.

But with that change also happened something that made you into a new being. A sexually mature person. So here we might link up with the fear of becoming infertile.

Actually all of these answers have some justification. But the one FEAR that is not mentioned is doing something taboo. Let's not forget that teeth are highly sexual items. Just recall the idea of love bites. Thus losing your teeth, especially breaking them, means an o****m. Now if you lose them because you are brushing them, it simply means that you are inducing an o****m by yourself. And with that is associated a great deal of fear because of its social TABOO.

Don't worry about withholding points for my answer. There are not may that have the courage of admitting that I might just be right. Although I must say there were just two Yahoo querents that did admit to the sexual meaning of this dream.

What most dream interpreters avoid, either due to ignorance or fear of their own sexuality, is that every dream also has a sexual meaning. You can actually test this and prove it correct, or falsify it by noting the time of this sort of dream and then watch what happens in the sexual sphere AFTER it, on the dream day. I leave you to it.
