Tefal toaster wont stay down - Avanti Elite, twin.

Hi my toaster wont stay down. Checked supply to the pc board - ok, 12v. Checked supply exiting to the hold down coil - nil, nothing, zippo. Can you please help i possoble. Thanks, john
