Teixeira's an Angel?

With the addition of Mark Teixeira to the Angels that finally gives them a big bat to go along with Vlad along with one of the best pitching staffs in the majors and a closer in K Rod who looks to shatter the save record are the Angels now the odds on favorites to win the World Series?

  1. Im going to miss that Casey Kotchman!! I get somewhat emotionally attached to these players, and its just hard to see them go! :/

  2. kotchman was playin good, idk if this will turnout good...but tex has alot of power .... so im in denial.

  3. Thanks Captain Obvious.

Which article did you cut and paste that from?

  4. It's kind of ironic...the team they traded with was slowly who the Angels were turning into.

The Angels were another 2 or 3 AL West Championships away from being the 90s Braves, who never seemed to make the deal to get them over the hump.  The won like 13 straight NL East titles, but only 1 W.S. trophy.  By making this trade, the Angels aren't guaranteed a championship, but they definitely have to be taken seriously...especially after destroying the Red Sox this entire season.

  5. unless the red sox get a big name then yes they r the favorites.

  6. this move vaults them ahead of the cubs for me, i have said that all they need is one more bat and they will be the favorites, and now that has finally happened...they had to give up kotchman to make it happen but the angels manufacture number 2 hitters like a machine, it's the power bat they need and that's what they got

  7. Not a great trade because A. Teixeira is a free agent after this year whereas Kotchman has 3 more seasons B. they've already won the West and the playoffs are basically random luck and C. they're kind of screwed at 1B after this year if they can't re-sign him. Kotchman's not that much worse than Teixeira anyway.

  8. they sure got a heck of a shot but i can't be getting cocky or anything.. one game at a time right now

i think tex is a great add as of right now i hope he's going to help the angels win some more games :)

i thought they were awesome even before tex so i don't really look at it as a BIG addition.. just something that will add to the already strong angels team

best of luck to Casey btw :") **i get so attached to players.. its horrible for me!!**

p.s. might be screwed next season.. dunno if he's gonna just be a two month rental or give him loads of money for him to stay.. who knows about next year?

  9. They already were before the trade.

  10. The Angels are lookin' good!! They are far up in the AL West, have a great pitching staff & now the big bats they have been missing the last couple years. The old GM, Bill Stoneman, was always afraid to pull the trigger on deals at the trade deadline. I'm glad the new GM got the deal done to get Teixiera....and thanks to Arte Moreno's $$$.

  11. I believe they are the front runners.
