Tekthelot looking to win Handicap Hurdle at Market Rasen
Tekthelot is carrying a lot of confidence to break his maiden by finishing first amazingly in the Amazing Group Offers For 28th April Handicap Hurdle which will be held at Market Rasen racecourse on Tuesday, March 27.
When the high-profile Class 5 contest over 2m1f distance begins at 4:20 (GMT), the Keith Reveley-trianed bay gelding will fight daringly against his eight competitors including A Patchy Dancer, Favours Brave, Dzesmin, Charles, Knox Overstreet, Hakuna Matata,
Carlitos Spirit and Hammer.
The event is offering £1,689 of prize money for the winners. Among the nine runners on the card, Tekthelot has drawn the biggest bankroll.
The six-year-old young horse made his debut in February 2011. Despite running for eight times, he has been winless to date. However, the talented runner has delivered some eye-catching performances.
After finishing fourth each in two consecutive races during June 2011, the brilliant gelding clinched 10th spot in another contest during the same month.
The novice horse achieved third spot in his second last outing on July 26. He moved forward to earn a runner-up rank in the last start of his career on March 19, 2012.
If Tekthelot runs to his best, his chances to finish first in the race can be more than 80 percent.
Among the favourite runner’s competitors, Knox Overstreet and Hammer are also likely to perform well on the track.
Knox Overstreet elegantly clinched top position in the last race of his career on March 20, 2012. Prior to this, Mick Channon’s bay gelding had finished sixth in his second last start on March 8. Overall he had run for a dozen times so far.
On the other hand, Hammer finished fourth in a big race in December 2011. Mike Sowersby’s bay gelding earned a runner-up rank in his second last outing on January 20, 2012. He clinched third position in his last race on March 14.
In this situation, Tekthelot will have to fight with his back to the wall in order to break his maiden. Let us see how the gelding struggles for success. Good luck to him.
